Her every move
Is mentally choreographed,
Before she makes it-

Almost down
To every step,
Before she takes it:

She struts
Like a magazine model
Being photographed-

Walking down the street:

She's not the kind
Of a girl
To scuff and scruff-

She's very well aware of herself,
And she knows enough:

Another enchantment of the world-

Kind of reminds me
Of a music video,
Or some movie:

Or like she's
Putting on a live performance
Of a day in the life of a Manhattan girl-

Even though she's never
Been outside the state of Alabama:

But anyone
Can just imagine,
When she sleeps-

What she dreams...

The stage and screen.
